lunamorphosis

For this anamorphic artwork on the beach at Marino I reflected on my experiences growing up & exploring this unique and fascinating corner of our coastline. As a child I often acted out tales of exploration and discovery amongst the ragged rocks and found tide pools full of mystery.

The illusion is visible from a marked spot on the ramp at low tide. The piece will slowly erode over the next year, waning through the lunar cycle as it is eroded by the sea and weather. It is my hope that, in time, it will become another of Marino Rocks' secrets.

lunamorphosis is installed at the boat ramp at Marino, South Australia - on the seafront at the junction of Marine Parade and Jervois Terrace.

This project was comissioned by the City of Marion as part of the Place2012 festival in Adelaide.
